Definition:
Self-deprecation is a form of humor in which people or comedians make jokes about themselves, their shortcomings, or their culture, usually without being guided by any underlying self-esteem issues.
Can you guess which fugly am I?
Maybe it's not so wise to procreate after all...

Dude, I totally know which one is you. But I won't ruin it for everyone else. Thank God they weren't Crocs...
#12? That was fugliness. Oh man I have so much past fugliness photodocumented. I could do an entire blog on the fugliness of my childhood pictures, and sadly, thanks to digital cameras and the overabundance of "proof", the blog would never end.
You got sucked in to this as well, eh?
@Kelley - That reference didn't even register with me at the time.
@Bluestreak - I actually have very few pictures, being away from the family home and all that jazz.
@A free man - It seemed like a good idea at the time, although, I think you are really owning those shades...
#12? and if it is #12 you were adorable!
G
xx
Awwwwwww.
Knees I say more?
I'm thinking 12.
At least your hair wasn't unfortunate. But those knobby knees? Oh, my.
For the record, I think you were cute.
Fugly #12, because my brother had the same sandals...I think they came from Dunnes Boutique..ouch!
Deno
I'm thinking you maybe had a touch of rickets as a result of eating nothing but tatties back in the emerald isle.
Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. You look like my brothers who are now 29 and 31, so that makes sense. The knees do look a little scary.
def. #12 because only European kids wear those kind of sandals (my son has TWO pairs)!
Good thing you didn't grow up in California because then you'd have tight shorts AND hot tubs to blame.
The general consensus seems to be #12. Never let it be said I wouldn't play along--#12.
Man those are some knobby knees!
Aw, you weren't fugly.
You were just adorably fashioned challenged.
I thing no #12 is absolutely adorable and not even fugly.
please don't tell me you're the one half of couple with chronic acne?
OMG, I'm really diggin' that footwear!
That watch looks bigger than your junk! Hopefully, you are taking advantage of proportions now that you are an adult (right?).
Fug me.
Nice bunny ears!
The Scooby Doo shirt is awesome. I'm guessing you grew into that watch?
I didn't know polio was still a problem in the 70s. Get some braces on those legs to match your mouth.
12! Without reading it, the nose gave it away.
Oh man, I have SOOOO many fugly pictures of myself. Uni-brow. Need I say more?
P.S I think you'll make adorable offspring!
I guessed right!!
And you dodohead, you were SO NOT fug!
What do I win?
oh XBox. Had it been taken in the winter you would have had a stripey tank top on wouldn't you?
never mind...
We were the same person. Only I was just a little cooler because I had Starsky and Hutch shirt rather than Scooby.
But I had the same sandals. And the shirt tucked into the tight shorts. And the same uncomfortable smile that was there whenever anyone came up with a camera, because I was expected to smile, no matter what.
Still, I was a cute one. When I became a teenager, that's when things got really bad. I blame chocolate. And guilt. Luckily, I don't have photos with me here.
@Myst_72 - I couldn't possibly give the game away ;0)
@Deeleea - hehaha..cheeky.
@Jenni - I'm sure the #12 kid, whoever it may be, had a good reason for the knobby knees.
@Deno - You know what, at the time, and for year afterwards, Dunnes was a dirty word.
Now? I'd crawl on hands and feet to be able to pick up a few bit sand pieces there!
@Womb for improvement - Well, well, well, aren't we feisty today!
@Jo Beaufoix - 1977 clones, all of us.
@Geeks in Rome - Funny, I hadn't even noticed the sandals originally!
@Ed - They are not so much knobbly as...er.. reversed.
@Redneck Mommy - nice to know! still am.
@EmmaK - The acne kicked in a few years later for me.
@Karen MEG - The new Crocs?
@DD - Of course! I have a much bigger watch now.
@Single Parent Dad - hahahahaha...
@Christi - I'd wear it if I had it now! and it was an original series shirt too!
@A Whole Lot OF Nothing - Gosh, Old age has turned you mean.
@Sarah - Nose? hahahaha
@Christa - You win this reply! I thought that pic was quite fugly. teh teeth, knees, watch as big as my own head?
@Tismee2 - come again?
@People in the sun - Yep, the teenage years stole all my cuteness, I blame Catholicism. And Chocolate.
I have very few pics of myself actually, I ran a salvage mission last Christmas back home and got that and a few others.
Adorable... but I've always been a push over for a man with great legs, and a winning smile.
I remember my brother refused to go in there, but my Mother would always come home with the stuff.
She especially loved the knickers and polyester trousers for school!!
Now it's top of the line, sure I can't afford it when I go home..it's a rip off.
Deno
Anyone who pays attention to the blog would totally know #12 was you. I don't think you look anything like the way you did then (I love the skinny nobby knees, BTW), but the words, oh, the words. snicker snicker
Tragic sandals. Cute photo though. :)
Who docked your freakin' legs?
You have to be #12, right?
Hey, it coulda been SO much worse.
precious precious! you aint no fugly. sorry man.
You have GOT to be #12...and I think you should dress your child to be up to match! For me it was the HAIR!
@Tara R - I'd try your nearest opticians if I were you...
@Deno - Exactly, it's bloody expensive now.
Oh the school uniforms!
@Kori - Them's good knees!
@TW - almost croc -like?
@Anja - Genetics...
@Stella - wow - you folk would settle for some ugly kids...
@hotmammamia - How'd you get if from the hair?
although it WAS fabulous....
I wasn't sure so I cheated and looked at who was who. I think you were adorable. Make more knobby knee-ed cuties, kay?
No way, cheater. That's like the cutest kid I've ever seen. No fug there, friend.
